shojo manga ruined my expectations for relationships

really, why aren’t multiple attractive boys pursuing me as the object of some kind of magical quest

but then what if it was like peach girl where there was also some bitch trying to destroy my polyamorous love affairs

So?  Oh man, that bitch would have nothin on me.  I would be a rad babe on the swim team with too many boyfriends.

Actually, I think Peach Girl is one of the only shoujo mangas I’ve read. (I guess I haven’t read that much manga. I am okay with this.)

I’d be like the lead character in it who’s all “oh my gosh it’s so embarrassing that I’m tan and sun-bleached-blonde and perfect looking ugh!!!!!!” and “Oh no, now two of the most handsome boys in school are fighting over me! Gosh, I wish I was dead!!!” I recall those being the main facets of the conflict.
